The Belmar Kite Festival this past weekend WAS NOT CANCELLED. It took place on the beach in Belmar New Jersey as scheduled. Another thread on this forum claims that it was cancelled. I was there and there were lots of kiteflyers and spectators. Saturday saw Scott Spencer, Betty Hirshmann, Andy Selzer, some of Jack Rogers crew with their big kites and lots of others. Sunday saw Dennis Smith and the Eastern League. The thank you letter below is from the event organizer to Ron Jakubowicz, the President of South Jersey Kite Flyers.

Ron,

I think it was a great weekend, even with the rain delay on Sunday. I agree with you about nurturing this Spring Kite festival into something bigger and better. I will bring this up with the board on Thursday. We are defiantly interested in doing something this Fall, even if it is only one day. Keep me posted about the Fall. We still have money left over from the spring and if we don't use it I need to give it back to the town. I will be in touch. Thank you and your club for making this event a success.
