Thanks Prog as I said I fly mine from a double bridle on the front spar so mine is flown with a cross plan form showing. Where as Boxkites probably uses a single line from the front triangular fin and has a square plan form showing. I used lots of diamonds of different colours to make mine, which is why I have 3 patterns. At the right angle of viewing the diamonds become squares, which explains the odd shaped diamond in the middle of the 3 patterns, it is a fin and part of the run of "squares".

Some time I must try flying it the other way

Then what would you call a zigzag that has one hole between the left and right?

I tried to do a ASCII examples, but the forum software deletes multiple space characters....

In the photo above (harvested from the Internet) on the left is a straight stitch.

next is a zigzag stitch

then some multipoint stitches that the host web site called four point and six point stitch, which is probably a more accurate name for the stitches.... so I stand corrected.

I just made a sample of what I made back in the old days, yes I am an .

This kite plan is not that big, only about 1 meter. You can scale it up though. The measurements are all without seams so add those to the figures. The inside will have to have an edge binding. This area can be square or round, or even a star shape, up to you.

All the triangles, I made black for clarity, have a spar holder. This can be any way you like I suppose. I had cups on each triangle. You could make pockets as well to hold the spars in place if you find that easier.

Prog I can't do 3d cad but below is a small version of my 3 view plan of the optic box.

Hope this helps visualization process. the optic rocket is like Pumkin says, similar to this but with bigger wings and a circular cutout.

I do have sort of a Picavet suspension system. After drilling a small hole in the front, and rear at the top, I made a wire suspension devise that has two loops. The line goes through those two loops and fasten to the kite line in two places with carabiners. This way the bubble machine stays level no matter the angle of flight line. It also stays pointing down wind that way, as well.

I do have a scale. It weighs 1.5 lbs when loaded up ready to hang from the line. I think the 8 ft delta will have no problem hoisting it if the winds are 10 mph, or so.

The bubble mixture does not seem to slosh out. Well, it may when the line goes slack and the machine bounces on the ground. However the reservoir is not very large, so it will need refilling frequently, it seems.

My 2 cents.... Barry has taken on a major project for the benifit of anyone here willing to send him a couple of hundred bucks worth of material.
Barry screws and someone is gonna be out of pocket and somehow I tink that would be Barry, cos someone doesn't take this sort of thing on without accepting the risk.

I think that what you're doing for those who want a kite from you is great. Really I do. Obviously lots of work and lots of time being donated here.

I think your language and hostile behavior toward someone asking a simple question is WAY out of line.

Tired or not tired; technical; pressure; whatever label you want to put on it, it's unwarranted.

Your post above is probably the single strongest example of poor language and hostile behavior I've seen on this forum.

We're a friendly bunch here.

Frankly, I think it would be big of you to offer an apology rather than offer up excuses.

I am up at daylight, and am dragging in late from cutting kites. I am so sorry, but my short fuse is now shorter. I am focused on the kite project. I will be much nicer when I finish the kites.
